Web of Lies US editionITEM: Beautifully produced signed hardback U.S. first editions of Beverley Naidoo’s Carnegie-winning The Other Side of Truth and its sequel Web of Lies. Beverly is also offering a half-hour Skype session to answer questions after the books are read.

BIO: Carnegie winner Beverley Naidoo was born in Johannesburg. As a student she joined the resistance to Apartheid. Arrested and detained without trial, she was later exiled in England. Her award-winning Journey to Jo’burg was banned in South Africa until 1991. She won the 2000 Carnegie Medal for The Other Side of Truth, the first time in 64 years that a book with African characters won the prize. Web of Lies is its sequel. A teacher for many years, she holds a PhD and some honorary doctorates for her body of work. She is currently nominated for the 2014 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.
