311: School visit and creative writing workshop from author Samira Osman

Sam 10 webITEM: School visit from Samira Osman to include an author talk about my new YA crime mystery Chasing The Dark and a one hour creative writing workshop and a signed copy of Chasing the Dark.

DETAIL: I offer a power point book talk which explores the inspiration for my new crime thriller Chasing the Dark and looks at the whole genre of crime fiction which works well at around 45 minute – 1 hour for years 6,7,8, 9. Plus a one hour creative writing sessions to suit the age group:

Killer openings – looking at writing the opening line of a thriller

I Remember – where the children write about memories evoked by simple objects, smells or sounds,

The Street – where they use descriptions of places to reflect the character’s emotions.

I am willing to travel within the London area or up to a one hour drive from South London.

BIO: I was a documentary maker for the BBC for 25 years. I now write fantasy adventure for 9 plus as Sam Osman and YA crime thrillers as Sam Hepburn.
