lucy-picture-2ITEM: Author event + signed and dedicated hardback copy of Captain Beastlie’s Pirate Party (Feb 2014) and signed and dedicated paperback copy of Atticus the Storyteller’s 100 Greek Myths.

DETAIL: School visit or other author event for children to comprise no more than three hour-long sessions.

Can be a combination of any 3 of the following:

An interactive pirate-themed talk for infants/Y1 with story reading and learning to draw and decorate a simple pirate hat.

An interactive bear-themed talk for infants/Y1 with story reading and learning how to draw a teddy.

A talk on Greek myths for Y2-4 focussing on journeys, heroes and monsters with Q and A.

An author talk on the creative writing process for Y5+ with Q and A.
School to pay all travel expenses and (if necessary) accommodation costs. Dates by mutual arrangement. Anywhere in UK or abroad.

BIO: Lucy Coats worked as a children’s editor and bookseller before turning to full-time writing, and is the author of many titles for all ages, including the bestselling Atticus the Storyteller’s 100 Greek Myths which was shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award. Her latest picture book, Bear’s Best Friend, has just been published by Bloomsbury, and she has forthcoming titles from Nosy Crow and Grosset and Dunlap USA. Lucy lives with her husband, grown-up children and 10,000 books in Northamptonshire. She is also a regular blogger, writes for Mslexia and Publishing Talk, tweets as @lucycoats and teaches regular Guardian Masterclasses on writing for children.”
